What line cleaning covers

  • Hydro jetting of sewer laterals and the line from the house to the septic tank
  • Grease and sludge buildup in commercial kitchen drains and grease trap outlet lines
  • Root intrusion cleared from clay and older laterals
  • Commercial drain backups and slow floor drains
  • Effluent line cleaning between the tank and the distribution box

Hydro jetting vs a snake

A cable snake punches a hole through a blockage. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the full inside diameter of the pipe, pushing grease, sludge, scale and root hair out to the tank or main. On a line that keeps backing up, jetting is the fix that lasts; a snake is the fix that buys a month. If jetting finds a break or a belly, we tell you and quote the repair rather than jetting it again next season.

Frozen sewer and water lines

Shallow lines, lines under driveways and lines with a slow drip freeze in a hard York County winter. We thaw frozen sewer lines and water lines to get you flowing again, and when the depth or the pitch is the real problem, we say so and quote the permanent fix: re-laying the line below frost. Winter emergencies are dispatched after hours; additional fees apply.

Who calls for this

  • Homeowners with a backup that a snake didn't fix

  • Property managers with recurring winter freeze-ups
  • Camps and seasonal properties opening or closing for the season

Our family has been using Nest and Sons, Inc. for over forty years. We had an emergency on Christmas Eve, they showed up promptly, were courteous and professional even though we knew they had holiday plans. Thank you!

What a great experience!! My first interaction was with Kathy who answered my call right at 8 am when they opened. She was so very pleasant and professional over the phone. She assured me that someone could come out the same day.

I was in a very emergency situation with a crushed septic pipe at a fully occupied multi unit. Taylor and his team took my call, reshuffled their day and were onsite within a couple hours, excavator and all!! They were respectful.

Common questions

Hydro Jetting & Pipe Thawing FAQ

Can hydro jetting damage old pipes?
On sound clay, cast iron and PVC, no. On a line that is already collapsed or badly cracked, jetting can finish it, which is why we check the line first and adjust pressure for the material.
How long does a thaw take?
Most residential lines thaw within an hour or two once we reach the frozen section. Long, deep freezes take longer.
Is this part of a pumping visit?
No. Pumping empties the tank. Line cleaning clears the pipe. They are often done on the same visit when a backup is the reason for the call.
