Drainage trenching
Standing water in the yard, a wet basement wall, or a drain field that floods every spring usually traces to surface and groundwater that has nowhere to go. We cut drainage trenches, set perforated pipe in stone, and grade the discharge so water leaves the property instead of sitting on the septic system. Curtain drains upslope of a drain field are one of the cheapest ways to save a field that is drowning.
Land clearing
Clearing for new septic systems, drain field expansions, utility corridors and building sites. Brush, small trees and stumps removed, grubbed and hauled or chipped, with the area graded for what comes next. Clearing is scoped to the design: a drain field needs a clear, sunlit area with no roots reaching into the stone, and we clear to that line and not a foot past it.
Backfill, compaction and site restoration
Every excavation ends with restoration. Backfill in lifts, compaction to prevent settling, finish grading, and lawn, gravel or pavement put back. When a repair crosses asphalt, we coordinate the paving. The quote includes restoration; it is not an extra.
Why one crew
The excavator that opens the ground for a tank replacement is ours, and so is the pump truck that empties the old tank and the hydrovac that exposes the gas line ten feet away. One crew, one schedule, one quote, one restored site. No subcontractor waiting on another subcontractor.
What York County customers say
Read all reviews on GoogleOur family has been using Nest and Sons, Inc. for over forty years. We had an emergency on Christmas Eve, they showed up promptly, were courteous and professional even though we knew they had holiday plans. Thank you!
James DesrosiersGoogle reviewWhat a great experience!! My first interaction was with Kathy who answered my call right at 8 am when they opened. She was so very pleasant and professional over the phone. She assured me that someone could come out the same day.
Liz BrownGoogle reviewI was in a very emergency situation with a crushed septic pipe at a fully occupied multi unit. Taylor and his team took my call, reshuffled their day and were onsite within a couple hours, excavator and all!! They were respectful.
